Bold, character-driven stories across screen and page
Daniel Beals is a genre-spanning writer with a passion for bold, character-defining storytelling across film, television, and comics. His brand is Harness Your Fire. Whether that's through sharp wit or a baseball bat to someone's head is usually left up to the characters. Daniel's intial foray into creating stories was writing Sexy Nightmare Slayers, a horror-comedy pilot produced by ArieScope Pictures and directed by Adam H. Green (Hatchet, Frozen). That opportunity set the tone for a career built on dark humor, emotional stakes, and imaginative worldbuilding through creative collaboration.
His screenplays—ranging from sci-fi thrillers to social dramas—have placed in top competitions, including Coverfly’s Summer Reading List (The Crimson Pool) and the Page Awards (The Empress of DäGar). In the comics space, Daniel has contributed to numerous anthologies including Love is Love (Hand Me Down, illustrated by David LaFuente), the 2016 book by DC Comics and IDW Publishing that benefited victims of the Pulse Nightclub shooting. Comics is but another medium where he showcases his voice: genre-fluid, darkly funny, and rooted in empathy. Whether on the page or screen, his work explores transformation, identity, and resistance with urgency and heart.
Daniel continues to build a cross-medium body of work under his creative banner, Bealsebub, where story always comes first—no matter the format.
