If you’ve ever felt the pull of a story where heroes face their demons or reach out to someone in need, you’re in the right place.
Hi there! For those who don't know me, I’m Daniel Beals, a director, writer, and producer with over two decades in film and television. Welcome to my blog.

The Hustle Begins
I moved from Michigan to Los Angeles in my early 20s, and started immediately working in film and TV. I worked on so many hit, high-concept projects, I can't remember them all. But the ones that stick out are shows like The Office and Parks & Rec, and feature films like The Dark Knight Rises and Thor, glimpses of an early career that taught me the workflow of production, the synergy of a set, and the power of collaboration.

The crews, cast, creators, and innumerable teammates I met along the way have been integral in shaping and inspiring me to find my own voice as a storyteller.
Discovering MY Fire
Every interaction and experience charged me with ultimately pursuing my true passion: directing my own films — like Don’t Be Afraid, an award-winning horror short about keeping our demons caged, and Mediating Kidnapper, a dark comedy starring Jim O’Heir in a hilariously wicked turn. At their core, everything I write or direct is fueled by one idea: harness your fire. I tell stories about flawed, messy people navigating the consequences of their choices, finding the courage within to evolve or, in their fall, empower those around them.
Bealsebub was born from these ideas.
What We’re Building
"Bealsebub" isn't just a banner; it’s a home for stories that challenge, unsettle, and inspire the will to overcome adversity. I’ll be sharing the journey behind my work: the lessons learned on set, the people who shaped my craft, and the raw, behind-the-scenes glimpses of what it takes to build something yourself in a world of no’s and not yets.
Moreover, this blog is a journal of my experience getting a feature film made. Maybe that’ll be the thriller, The Crimson Pool, or maybe it’ll be my new contained sci-fi resistance story, Transfer. In this business, the target’s always moving. Hell, maybe it’ll be something entirely new bubbling in my imagination. Only one way to find out.
